Orange County New Year's Eve at the Fairgrounds in Costa Mesa
Joining Sugar Ray and Joan Jett & The Backhearts are some great New Wave acts: The Violent Femmes, The Psychedelic Furs, Berlin, The (English) Beat, and Bow Wow Wow, among others. It looks like promoters are trying to create a major new annual event with the Orange Drop 2006 here in Orange County.

I saw the post for the New Wave New Year's Eve Show at The Fairgrounds. Nice band line up.
But be warned!- The Fairgrounds has the worst sound system in all the county. I saw The Plimsouls and X there recently. I would have been better off staying home and listening to a hammer hit a wall.

In addition to sound output, the Pacific Amphitheatre is restricted in how late it can allow acts to play.
